House Managers

A House Manager is someone who may look after one or more residences for their Principals.

WHERE DO WE RECRUIT A HOUSE MANAGER FOR?

House Managers are usually employed in a household with several staff who need supervision and guidance. A House Manager may only be looking after one house, or a City and Country residence, and in some cases they could be looking after several properties around the world.  In some cases their role will also involve being ‘hands on’ themselves, or  they may carry out a purely supervisory role.

We recruit our candidates, who come from all over the world, very carefully.  All House Manager candidates are interviewed thoroughly, and must have at a minimum of at least three years’ experience, suitable references that can be checked, good spoken English and other languages if required, regardless of where you are located. We can also arrange, if necessary, for DBS checks to be done

Our aim is not to send you lots of House Manager candidates – just the right candidates.

WHAT ARE THE DUTIES OF A HOUSE MANAGER ?

The House Manager would need to know how to receive guests, keep the household budgets and inventory of supplies, oversee and deal with contractors and suppliers, security, organising events and parties. They may also undertake the opening and closing of residences before and after the principal arrives. The list of duties goes on and on… shopping, organising theatre tickets, restaurant reservations, arranging for children to be picked up and taken to school, staff training… etc.

Good house managers can step into the shoes of anyone in the household should the occasion arise.

A House Manager could live in or out, depending on the location and is, more often than not, the most senior member of staff in a household.

At T and C Staff we strongly believe that anyone who looks after children, regardless of their experience or the ages of the children, should have an up to date Paediatric Frist Aid Certificate and if your Nanny does not have this we are happy to let you know of courses available.

If you are looking to recruit a House Manager  please telephone 020 3174 2446 or email  enquiries@tandcstaff.com    We would be happy to help.
